Angus is a lowland county between the Tay and the North Esk, with Dundee at its transport core. The coastal railway links Dundee, Broughty Ferry, Arbroath, Montrose and Stonehaven in under an hour, so you can sleep in one town and reach most sights by train. Inland sights — Glamis Castle, the Angus glens, the Aberlemno stones — need a bus, a taxi or a car. Two nights covers the coast; add a night if you want the glens or a castle day.
