Amqui
Stop for one night, not a base: Amqui is a service town on Route 132 with a 1904 station, two covered bridges and a river walk.
Amqui is the largest town in the Matapédia Valley and the valley's service centre: hospital, police, courthouse, shops along boulevard Saint-Benoît (Route 132). Travellers use it as a bed and a meal between Rimouski and the Gaspé, or as a winter stop for snowmobile and cross-country ski trails. Sights are few and small, and there is no public transit, so a car or a taxi is the practical way to move.

Get around
No public transit. Walk the centre along boulevard Saint-Benoît; drive or take Taxi Rapido 2004 for the covered bridges, the golf club and the campground. Route Verte cycle path runs through downtown.
