Amlwch
Skip as a base unless you want the coast path and quiet: 1 night, or a half-day stop for the Copper Kingdom Centre on the A5025.
Amlwch is the northernmost town in Wales, a former copper-mining and shipping port on the north coast of Anglesey. It is not a polished resort: the draw is industrial history, the Copper Kingdom Centre, the clifftop at Point Lynas and easy access to the Anglesey coast path. Most travellers pass through on the A5025 between Moelfre and Cemaes, or use it as a quiet one-night stop while touring the island by car.

Get around
A car is the practical way to see the coast and Parys Mountain; the A5025 runs through town. Local buses link Amlwch with the rest of Anglesey and Bangor, but services are infrequent and thin on Sundays — check the current timetable before planning around them. The town itself is small enough to walk.

- Many cafés, pubs and attractions run reduced hours or close outside the summer season.
- Parys Mountain is an industrial landscape with uneven ground and old workings: stay on marked paths.
Amlwch is a quiet, low-crime small town; the real risks are coastal weather, uneven ground at Parys Mountain and unlit lanes at night. Standard UK precautions apply.
