American Fork is a small city on the north end of Utah Lake, 30 miles south of Salt Lake City. Its main draw is Timpanogos Cave National Monument, a 45–60 minute cave tour after a moderate hike. The town itself has a B&B and basic services, but most travellers use it as a lunch-and-gas stop on I-15 or a side trip from Provo or Salt Lake City.
