Amatlán de Cañas
Go for one night if you want hot-spring pools and a quiet Pueblo Mágico; skip it if you need beaches, nightlife or easy English.
Amatlán de Cañas is a small colonial town in Nayarit, about 120 km from both Tepic and Guadalajara, known for thermal mineral pools and mountain scenery. It is one of Mexico's Pueblos Mágicos. There is little to do beyond the spas, the plaza and the church, so one night is enough for most travellers.
