Afissos
Άφησσος
Afissos is a half-day beach stop on a Northwest Pelion road trip: swim at one of three beaches, lunch, then continue to Kala Nera or Milies. Not a base.
Afissos (also Afetes) is a small coastal village on the Pagasetic Gulf with three beaches popular among young Greeks. It has a handful of rooms, a beach-bar scene and a water-sports park. Most travellers use it as a lunch-and-swim pause between Kala Nera and Milies or as a quiet overnight if they want to avoid Kala Nera's crowds.

- No ATM in Afissos; bring cash from Volos or Kala Nera.
- Bus service is limited: check the KTEL Volos timetable before relying on it.
Afissos is safe. The main risks are summer heat (bring water to the beach) and uneven paths on the beach access. No nightlife crime to speak of.
