Abbotsford
Give Abbotsford one night, two if you want the airshow or a farm loop: it is a Fraser Valley stop between Vancouver (60–75 min) and the BC interior, not a destination on its own.
Abbotsford is an agriculture city of about 165,000 in the Fraser Valley, 90 km east of Vancouver on Highway 1, with its own airport (YXX) and a 24/7 border crossing to Washington state at Huntingdon–Sumas. Sights are spread out and a car helps. Most travellers use it as a break on the Trans-Canada run, a cheap-airport alternative to Vancouver, or a base for farm tours, the August airshow and the Sikh and Mennonite heritage sites.

The city is spread out and a car is the practical choice; rentals cluster at YXX. BC Transit (Central Fraser Valley) runs local buses with 90-minute transfers, including route 3 to the Huntingdon border, 21 to Langley (TransLink transfer), 31 to Mission and 66 to Burnaby/Chilliwack. Taxis and Uber cover the gaps.
