- The ticket covers the walled complex: the Muhammad Ali Mosque, the Al-Nasir Muhammad Mosque, and usually the National Military Museum and the Police Museum — check what is included on the day.
- The complex sits on a hill with open, shadeless courtyards: bring water and a hat, and expect wind.
- Women should bring a scarf for the mosque; robes are sometimes lent at the door but do not rely on it.
