Know before you go
- The arches are two natural limestone bridges over sea caves at the very north end of Niue, cut by wave action when sea levels were higher; the walk in passes through native forest (vao) rather than open coast.
- The last stretch down to the caves uses a fixed chain on bare, often slick coral limestone: this is the most physically demanding stop in this guide and is not suitable for young children.
- There is no signal for most of the walk. Carry water, a torch each and tell someone your return time.
