Know before you go
- Renamed King Michael I Park in 2018 after the former king, though 'Herăstrău' remains the name everyone uses.
- The lake was drained and landscaped in the 1930s from marshland; the park now covers about 1.9 sq km, the largest in the centre-north of the city.
